Simpli

Understanding cash vs. award results

SimpliFly returns two types of results for the same route and date: cash fares from Amadeus and award availability from loyalty programs. Both appear in a single list so you can compare them directly.

Cash results

Cash results show the lowest available published fare for your route and dates. The price shown is the base fare — taxes and fees are added at booking.

For cash results, Simpli also fetches a price rating (Low / Typical / High) based on historical pricing data for that route and booking window. This is informational — it tells you where the current fare sits relative to the typical range. It is not a prediction or a recommendation.

Award results

Award results show actual availability from loyalty programs — not estimated redemptions. Each award result includes:

  • Points required — the number of miles or points to book the award.
  • Taxes and fees — the cash co-pay charged on the award ticket.
  • CPP — cents per point, calculated from the comparable cash fare and the award cost. This is illustrative — it shows you the math, not a recommendation.

Reading the CPP badge

The CPP badge on award results uses the formula: (cash equivalent − fees) ÷ points × 100. Badge colors indicate:

  • Excellent (green) — 1.5¢+ per point
  • Good (blue) — 1.0¢–1.5¢ per point
  • Fair (yellow) — 0.7¢–1.0¢ per point
  • Poor (red) — below 0.7¢ per point

These thresholds are illustrative reference points, not advice. Your own CPP floor depends on your balances, programs, and plans.
